After we have completed the testing according to the assembly manual on the forum, we are ready to install the exoskeleton on the human body for testing. Could you please tell me what are the safe and effective steps to follow?
Great question. We are working to add a guide for first on-body testing. Please stand by!
In short, we recommend starting with motors disconnected (or with the target torque set to 0) while you monitor the "desired" torque signal to make sure your controller looks accurate and safe. Monitor sensors, etc. Then, set a very small torque (e.g., 3-5 Nm) for the next few walking trials.
Attached is a guide providing an outline for validating an OpenExo system safely before applying any torque. Within the attached PDF is a hyperlink to more detailed information already written regarding the minutia of setting up an OpenExo system for the first time, if needed!
@noah-enlow Hello, I haven't found out where the file you attached can be downloaded from.
@noah-enlow
I have checked the post carefully, but I didn’t see the attachments or hyperlinks that Noah Enlow mentioned. Could you please help me check or provide them again? Thank you!
Hi, here's a rough draft that my student put tighter. We will post an updated link to the wiki when it is ready.
Apologies for the missing attachment. We've updated some of the documentation on the wiki to be more thorough and apply to all exoskeleton configurations. The steps you'll want to follow are here. You may have already performed some of the steps in the early part of the guide, but the "Orienting Yourself" and onward is necessary for a first-time startup.
